Foursquare is committed to the Great Commission and the promise found is Matthew 28:
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
Jesus did not tell us to make converts, but disciples – those who would worship, follow and serve Him. As a movement we understand that this requires more than evangelism. It takes a life-long commitment to people, because discipleship never ends. We train disciples through Biblical education as well as doing life together as a community.
The goal of discipleship is to help people make a life-long decision to love, obey and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and to help them discover their spiritual gifts and fulfill their individual callings and destiny in Christ.
